FoxPro Sales Office Automation
Updated a 500,000 line FoxPro DOS application to Visual FoxPro (VFP 9 - the current version of FoxPro). This was accomplished by creating a platform that permitted mixing the DOS tool with an increasingly modernized VFP 9 application. The updated portion of the application provides for modeless windows, multiple simultaneous sessions, structured hierarchical classes, etc.
The migration of code was incremental. The operation was able to continue use of the application while the codebase was updated.
The application contains all aspects of sales office automation, from sales, management, marketing, production and shipping. The application is integrated with a .NET web site - sharing inventory, pricing and descriptions, and providing for automated order processing. At various times the system was integrated with a touch tone order entry system. The system is integrated with a high capacity telephone system to track phone sales and to connect recordings with the sales session. Integrates Microsoft Office applications to automate customized mailings. Integrates with mailing application for order tracking data. Uses socket tools to send automated email notes and transmit files as needed via FTP. Uses both VFP native tables and queries multiple SQL databases. Barcode scanning for mail tracking.
FoxPro ‘ProTools’
Library of over 300 utilities designed to extend FoxPro capabilities. Tools include user interface, error recovery, debugging, LAN access and more. They are compatible between DOS, Windows and the Mac. The tools are used in my applications and are also marketed to other developers. Included is a 400 page manual. Aristo Interface
Created EDI Interface for the Aristo Parcel Shipping System (APSS). This is a data driven tool that write transaction records to be transmitted to service vendors. In addition, an application to call each EDI enabled vendor and to transmit the electronic data was created.
Nutrition Application
Enhanced application that calculates nutrition content and provides labels per government rules. Labels are generated by the application itself using 'GDI' system references. Labels are multi-lingual.
KIWI Macintosh Interface
KIWI is a proprietary Macintosh shipping application. KIWI can accept transactions requesting service via the Macintosh serial port. Created a PC based application that can send and receive transactions to the KIWI system.

Web Site Development

Automated Link Analysis
Created application that searches Internet by 'crawling' through related links. Application tests that links are functioning properly, parses the HTML from the link's web page, tests for applicability to the search, and rates the link. Embedded links on this page are then used to create a list for searching additional sites. HTML code is analyzed for common usage of capabilities. These are captured and rated, making it possible to statistically determine sites of interest. Criteria for both inclusion and exclusion of sites are data driven. Multi-threaded - making it possible to search many link chains simultaneously. Links are rated to optimize potential search paths and depth.

FoxPro based parsing of HTML. HTML code, as it is produced both manually and through many applications, is often very inconsistent. This parser will return consistent, well formatted HTML information in a database format that is very easy to use by the calling application.

Paradox Case Management System for Lawyers
Perpetual calendaring system, meeting planner, automated to-do list that includes items based upon ‘triggered’ events, electronic mail, notes, indexed notes, linkage to documents prepared in other applications, as well as many specialized screens representing categories of information used in typical case preparations. Paradox Financial Database
On-line environment for accountants to extract many reports to help with analysis of operating income and P&L. The large database is collected from a mainframe, and downloaded to the PC based LAN. From there it is imported into Paradox. Users are given a choice of reports. Input forms are provided to ease entry of information that is not included from the mainframe database.
